Bellingham Sportsplex
Whatcom County Amateur Hockey Association is pleased to host a Try Hockey for Free held at the Bellingham Sportsplex. Our USA Hockey certified coaches and student player / coaches will help these 4-9 year old kids experience the fastest (and slipperiest) game in town.
Skates, sticks and pucks will be provided, However, each participant should bring their own helmet (hockey, bike or sport) and winter gloves, just in case. Full hockey equipment will be available for the first kids to check in, but we encourage those who have access to hockey equipment to bring it, even if you do not have everything.
At a minimum, bring the following items: 1) A loose-fitting pair of sweatpants for OVER the shin pads, AND 2) tights or PJ's for UNDER the shin pads, 3) a long sleeve undershirt, and 4) a pair of winter gloves - mittens are fine. A helmet (bike/sport/snowboard, etc) that is properly adjusted (covers forehead to just above eyebrows, does not slide or move) is a good idea, just in case we run out. Finally, a change of clothes might be good for your tired, sweaty child at the end of the event.
We look forward to seeing you there - this is a lot of fun and we always have a great time!
